The team that will work on a project depends on the nature of the job. We want to ensure that the right depth of talent is brought to the table. Where it adds value, we bring on board like-minded Connectors to design and/or deliver the best programs and projects possible.

Diggi Thomson

The Dotfather and Founder

If it wasn’t for dots, there would be no atoms.

Born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. Natural enthusiast, dynamic speaker, high impact trainer and facilitator. One time Icelandic Coastguard and theatre director. All the time hobbyist in the how and why of human behavior.

15 years of brand marketing at Unilever in both the UK & US saw Diggi work in both Personal Care & Foods as a Brand Director on brands such as Lipton and Salon Selectives. The highlight: responsibility for the highly successful launch of Axe Deodorant in North America, now an iconic brand for helping guys in their eternal quest to get girls.

Diggi followed his talent for engaging and energizing people and founded The Dot Connectors in 2008. Since then, Diggi has worked with clients and collaborators in the Americas, Europe and Asia, injecting energy, inspiration, ideas and best practices into each session he leads.

Emily Swet

The Indispensible Dot

Emily comes to The Dot Connectors with a background in writing and public relations. After studying English and professional writing in both college and graduate school, Emily began her career at St. Martin’s Press in New York City, and transitioned from buying and editing titles to reading and evaluating manuscripts with the literary agency Kidde, Hoyt & Picard. Emily transitioned writing into marketing, first in the financial industry then fleeing to Grassroots PR, where she was Client Services Director for over 30 accounts - designing and directing local level public relations campaigns and editorial calendars for brands such as Avon, The Body Shop, Allstate and Curves Fitness. When her nose isn’t tucked into her laptop, there’s a good chance she can be found on a spin bike, holding a plank pose, or playing a high-stakes game of chase with her four year old son, Jack.

Rodd Chant

The Creative Dot

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Rodd’s career has been anything but expected. He started out as a punk rock bass player, roadie, designed his own clothing line, surfed, skateboarded, tried acting, and generally marched to the beat of his own drum. All along, everything he did was creative.

Rodd stumbled into advertising as a copywriter in 1991 and within seven years he was a creative director. Agency work includes McCann-Erickson, Sydney; BBDO; Batey; and Publicis (as Executive Creative Director), and FCB New York (as EVP/Executive Creative Director). He also founded his own creative agency, BORN, in Sydney.

Rodd’s worked with Coca-Cola, Levi’s, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Kraft, Nabisco, Nestle, Unilever, P&G, Johnson & Johnson, Bayer, Visa, Mastercard, Durex, Ritz-Carlton, L’Oreal, Reckitt & Benckiser, Fidelity, ING Bank, Pizza Hut, and many more. His creative work has been recognized by - Cannes, London Internationals, One Show, New York Festivals, Communication Arts, AdFest Asia, Times Asia Pacific, NY Times, The Straits Times, and most importantly, his Mum.

Kesri Smolas

The Farming Dot

Of Indian origin, but born and raised in South Africa during Apartheid, Kesri bucked the trends when she met and married an Englishman and now is living out her childhood dream on the border of England and Wales on an ancient farmstead. Kesri’s literal farmer lifestyle extends to the figurative as she cultivates innovation, communication and social mission projects, which are her special passion. Her 15 years of marketing experience include Marks & Spencer South Africa, leading Global Innovation for Dove and Knorr in the UK, and Director of Unilever’s marketing academy for new employees. Kesri’s dynamic and creative energy plus a wealth of hands on experience and drive result in a proven record of bull’s eyes. When she’s not hitting her mark, she’s kept on her toes by her gorgeous (yet hereditarily lively) twins, Jaden and Kaila.
